28-30 June 2019
Our annual church weekend away is held at Blaithwaite House in the Lake District. This is a great opportunity to hear great Bible teaching, spend time away as a church family, get to know one another better, relax and enjoy the beauty of the Lakes and to have loads of fun. Whether you're young or old, new to the church or you've been coming for years, there'll be something for everyone.
Teaching: The Wonders of the Cross
We will be spending three sessions looking in more depth at the cross. Here we see most clearly God's love for us, his power over sin and death, and his plans and purposes come to fulfilment in this mighty act of salvation. It will revive our soul! Each session includes a talk and time for group reflection, whilst the kids enjoy their own programme. We'll finish the weekend on Sunday with a fourth session – a service for all the family - celebrating together how Jesus has conquered death and gives us eternal life.
We are staying at a converted manor farmhouse located in the north of the Lake District, two hours drive from Gateshead. Situated in beautiful grounds it offers two children's play areas, goats and chickens, playing fields, crazy golf, BMX track, landscaped formal gardens, a lake anda Victorian summer–house. You can stay in the house (most rooms have en-suite), share a dormi-tory or enjoy the spectacular views from the campsite which includes hot showers and a drying room. It's the perfect place to relax and get away from it all.
Kids: Sparks and Bonfires
Sparks – Preschool children will be hearing Bible stories using songs and puppets –with time to spare for free play!
Bonfires –likewise the junior school children will be looking at the junior Christianity Explored course–a great summary of what we believe (and lots of games!)
