This is the last of four Vision Services, where we hear an update on our church finances and our giving within the context of what we’re trying to do as a church.  Tonight we’re thinking about a short account in Mark’s gospel of an incident that occurred at the Temple and which is very helpful [...]

Vision Service 2011

February 6th, 2011 (AM) - By: Matt King

Malachi presents a picture of a people who have gone beyond impatient to being slightly cynical in their worship. They weren’t in full rebellion, but when God spoke, they spoke back. “You say you’re a God of justice, but where’s our justice?”. “You say you love us, but show us the love!” They were cynical. It may feel a little unpleasant, but if we’re prepared to listen and obey, then it’ll be good for us.

Vision Service 2010: Sowing and Reaping

February 7th, 2010 (PM) - By: Rob Frame

When Christians are generous with their time, their money, their emotional energy, their homes whatever God has given them it points to the cross, it tells others that the cross is real and that God’s indescribable gift has become ours. What happens? People praise God, Christians rejoice in God’s grace more and people become Christians! Envy and greed and grasping are defeated and Christ is honoured.

7 Deadly Sins: Envy

February 7th, 2010 (AM) - By: Rod Earnshaw

We’re not in competition, we’re family, we’re brothers and sisters. There’s more than enough for everyone. And there is more joy in sharing than in hording. There is greater reward in love than in envy, envy mocks us even as it feeds on us, but love builds us up even as we build others up.
