It’s not just that we have nothing that hasn’t been given to us, more fundamentally than that, we serve a generous God. ‘For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich’.
Christ who gave up his life for us. If we call ourselves ‘Christians’ we have a lot to live up to. If we’re serious about following Jesus then we have to take that challenge of generosity seriously. Generosity isn’t an optional extra for us. It’s fundamental to following Jesus.
